Overwatch

Overwatch was one of the players in secret and strange events in Arkansas in a recent episode of Jesse Ventura's Conspiracy Theory. Here's the first paragraph from the Overwatch site, which explains in barely couched language what they're about:
Overwatch Textron Sytems - Home: Overwatch delivers understanding through multi-source intelligence and geospatial analysis solutions.

Overwatch delivers multi-source intelligence (multi-INT), geospatial analysis and custom intelligence solutions to the Department of Defense, national agencies and civilian organizations. Our solutions enable analysts to integrate and leverage multiple intelligence sources to improve situational understanding and deliver actionable intelligence in support of counter-terrorism, irregular warfare and civil applications such as climate control, ecosystem management and environmental planning.

Oh what fun one can have parsing their disingenuous little hearts.

Link to a photo of the huge "mansion" being constructed in Arkansas, owner is Steven T. Huff, ex-CIA agent, and very, very wealthy. Purpose of the uber fortified compound not known, since they aren't talking. Underground tunnels abound in the area, and are protected by both public authorities (police, sheriff) and private security. Earthquakes have mysteriously increased: in 2009, the area had 33 earthquakes, in 2011, 788.

Brane Space: Cam Americans Distinguish Conspiracy from Conspiracy Theory?

Brane Space: Cam Americans Distinguish Conspiracy from Conspiracy Theory?: "How do we know that our own rational rejections of conspiracy theories are not themselves infected with beliefs so strong that they are, in effect, conspiracy theories too?"

- Matt Ridley in 'Maybe We're All Conspiracy Theorists', The Wall Street Journal, Sept. 10-11, 2011

“Those who suffer from conspiracy phobia are fond of saying: 'Do you actually think there's a group of people sitting around in a room, plotting things?' For some reason that image is assumed to be so patently absurd as to invite only disclaimers. But where else would people of power get together - on park benches or carousels?"

Make HIV testing routine for all, not just those at high risk, panel urges - CBS News

Why?: Make HIV testing routine for all, not just those at high risk, panel urges - CBS News I may be missing something, but if I've been in a monogamous marriage for thirty-five plus years, and not a user of needles, why would I want this? I suspect there is much more here than is being said. Simply more on the insidious push to vaccinate and track.

Texas School District Reportedly Threatening Students Who Refuse Tracking ID, Can't Vote For Homecoming

Texas School District Reportedly Threatening Students Who Refuse Tracking ID, Can't Vote For Homecoming: Without the badges -- required to be worn around the neck -- students cannot access common areas like the cafeteria or library, and cannot purchase tickets to extracurricular activities. WND reports that the district has threatened to suspend, fine or involuntarily transfer students who fail to comply and officials have noted that "there will be consequences for refusal to wear an ID card as we begin to move forward with full implementation."

Parents and students from the schools spoke out against the project last month. But now, WND is reporting that schools are taking the restrictions one step further.

And it gets worse. Read on ...

Lawyers: Colo shooting suspect can't go to hearing

Things keep getting curiouser and curiouser in this case:Lawyers: Colo shooting suspect can't go to hearing

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) — A court hearing for the man charged with the Colorado movie theater killings has been postponed after his attorneys said Wednesday that he had been taken to a hospital for unspecified reasons.

Court documents filed Wednesday gave no details of James E. Holmes' condition, other than that it "renders him unable to be present in court for (Thursday's) hearing." The hearing had been scheduled to discuss pretrial motions and media requests for information under state open records laws.

At a hearing Wednesday on defense attorneys' request to delay the court date, defense attorney Tamara Brady said Holmes was taken to a hospital Tuesday. She didn't say where or offer details on why, saying attorneys don't want to disclose privileged medical or psychiatric information.

"It's not as simple as a migraine, and it's not something that will resolve by tomorrow morning," she said.

Arapahoe County District Judge William B. Sylvester said that was sufficient information for him and postponed the Thursday hearing until Dec. 10.

Prosecutor Rich Orman had objected, saying the defense should be required to give information on Holmes' condition first.

It wasn't clear if Holmes was still in the hospital, but he didn't attend the emergency hearing.

Big Brother UK: 8 million children recorded on massive secret database — RT

This is like something out of the very great (and scary for its presentient, dystopian insights) fictional UK series Torchwood.Big Brother UK: 8 million children recorded on massive secret database:

A newly uncovered clandestine computer network, known as the ‘One System,’ can reportedly share children’s personal details across different UK agencies, including age, sex, address and their school behavior records – all without parents ever knowing.

One of Britain’s biggest government contractors has created a database containing the personal details of 8 million children, the Sunday Times revealed.

In an Orwellian twist, the firm hires photographers to take pictures of schoolchildren, which they then offer for sale to their parents before uploading them onto the database.

“The only reason they’ve designed this is about profit, it’s not about keeping children safe,” Pickles said.

Capita has been providing school management databases for local councils, called ‘Sims,’ for several years. Those councils can now upload data from Sims onto the One Database. The records, if required, could be integrated into a larger centralized database.

In Swindon, a large town in southern England, records on 48,000 pupils are stored on the Capita One database and have been shared with health officials at local NHS hospitals, and with teams that work with young offenders.

Capita children’s services, which designed the system, told the Sunday Times that it could be used to identify vulnerable children who may need support from social workers.

Pickles disagrees: “Child protection can not be delegated to an algorithm without local or individual knowledge of that child. Databases and computers remove human judgment.”

Food to Feed Both the Homeless and The Rest of Us Cogs

I find the juxtapositions of these two items interesting. The first is about food trucks seen as vehicles of terrorist doings: If You Eat Something, Say Something: DHS Sounds The Alarm On The 'Terrorist Implications' Of Food Trucks | Techdirt:

It's interesting (or maybe just kind of sad) that various government agencies see possible terrorists everywhere but rarely, if ever, catch one. Despite the large number of personnel being thrown at the problem (along with lots of money), actual terrorists seem to be in limited supply.

But these agencies haven't let their lack of success temper their vision of a nation under constant imminent attack. Public Intelligence recently posted a Powerpoint presentation from the NYC fire department (FDNY) discussing the unique safety issues mobile food trucks present. Along with some actual concerns (many food trucks use propane and/or gasoline-powered generators to cook; some *gasp* aren't properly licensed food vendors), the presenter decided to toss in some DHS speculation on yet another way terrorists might be killing us in the near future.

That's right. Instead of serving up a quick hot meal, these food trucks will be serving up death, and lots of it! Under the heading "Terrorist Implications," the FDNY lists the exact reasons we should be concerned, most of which begin with the word "high."

The second item; Mayor Bloomberg's War on Food. Besides banning big gulp type sodas, Bloomberg has banned food donations to homeless shelters. The reason given for this ban is that there is no way to check donated food for "...optimal levels of nutrition."

It's as if a giant, almost invisible net, made of the rarest and most comfortable silk, has been dropped over us, and hundreds out of its thousands of threads tighten around us each day. It's so subtle and barely detectable, so unrelated to all the other threads, that we don't notice we're being dragged for slaughter.

Sandy refugees say life in tent city feels like prison

Sandy refugees say life in tent city feels like prison - Yahoo! News: OCEANPORT, New Jersey (Reuters) - It is hard to sleep at night inside the tent city at Oceanport, New Jersey. A few hundred Superstorm Sandy refugees have been living here since Wednesday - a muddy camp that is a sprawling anomaly amidst Mercedes Benz dealerships and country clubs in this town near the state's devastated coastal region.

Inside the giant billowy white tents, the massive klieg lights glare down from the ceiling all night long. The air is loud with the buzz of generators pumping out power. The post-storm housing — a refugee camp on the grounds of the Monmouth Park racetrack - is in lockdown, with security guards at every door, including the showers.

No one is allowed to go anywhere without showing their I.D. Even to use the bathroom, "you have to show your badge," said Amber Decamp, a 22-year-old whose rental was washed away in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

The mini city has no cigarettes, no books, no magazines, no board games, no TVs, and no newspapers or radios. On Friday night, in front of the mess hall, which was serving fried chicken and out-of-the-box, just-add-water potatoes, a child was dancing and dancing — to nothing. "We're starting to lose it," said Decamp. "But we have nowhere else to go."

Signs of an Emerging Police State | Project Censored

Project Censored. Here's number 1 on the police state in this country, which has been a long time in coming, and certainly with a terrible focus since 9/11.

1. Signs of an Emerging Police State | Project Censored: Since the passage of the 2001 PATRIOT Act, the United States has become increasingly monitored and militarized at the expense of civil liberties. The 2012 passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) has allowed the military to detain indefinitely without trial any US citizen that the government labels a terrorist or an accessory to terrorism, while President Barack Obama’s signing of the National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order has authorized widespread federal and military control of the national economy and resources during “emergency and non-emergency conditions.” Since 2010, the Department of Homeland Security’s If You See Something, Say Something™ campaign has encouraged the public to report all suspicious activity to local authorities, even though actions that the DHS identifies as “suspicious” include the constitutionally protected right to criticize the government or engage in nonviolent protest.

New Jersey Contracted RFID Evacuee Tracking Tech Just Days Before Sandy Formed :

By Aaron Dykes
Infowars.com
November 5, 2012

Presciently, the State of New Jersey announced a 5-year contract for RFID tracking technology used to assist in evacuation by identifying and monitoring the location of evacuees and emergency assets during hurricanes or other disasters just four days before Hurricane Sandy began to form.

A press release was published October 18, 2012 announcing that Radiant RFID, based in Austin, Texas, would provide the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (OHSP) with the RFID technology it has already used during disasters in Texas and other locales, as during 2008′s Hurricane Gustav.

From the press release:

Radiant RFID will provide the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (OHSP) with an RFID-based managed evacuation solution that tracks evacuees, pets, emergency transport vehicles and commodities deployed at state shelters in preparation for and in the event of a hurricane, natural disaster or other incident to assist in reunification of families.

Activist Post: 12 Simple Steps to VeriChip the World

Activist Post: 12 Simple Steps to VeriChip the World
It goes something like this:

1. Create a climate of fear.

2. Get everyone online.

3. Enable even the poor to carry a cell phone.

4. Get everyone to talk about RFID and biometrics: the first phase of acceptance is expectation.

5. Chip as many things and people as you can (phones, pets, clothing, etc.) to make it normal.

6. Set up a global ID system but keep it hush hush.

7. Promote implants for health and safety, so people think they’re good.
And so on. . . you get the idea.

It's Time for the Poor to Come Out of the Plutocracy's Closet of Shame

It's Time for the Poor to Come Out of the Plutocracy's Closet of Shame: cholarly communities generally agree that it is wrong to disallow a fellow scholar's participation in a conference due to their race, sexuality, nationality or citizenship, or gender. There is not, however, an equal objection to excluding people on the basis of their economic standing. As a poor scholar tasked with supporting a family, I have been embarrassed to have had to apologetically cancel participation in conferences because of economic limitations that made me unable to pay for registration fees and travel costs. In the realm of health care, poverty has meant choosing tooth extraction over tooth repair because I didn't have insurance and couldn't afford the procedure. My missing tooth is a constant reminder that the poor are routinely denied basic human dignity in our society, even when they are recipients of racial, gender, and/or sexual privilege. If this is true of white, male, heterosexual, educated American poor people, then it is likely worse for those who are additionally "othered" due to race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, nationality or citizenship status, and/or education.

From Intel Hub: Virginia Police Hold Training Seminar About Sovereign Citizens :

Virginia Police Hold Training Seminar About Sovereign Citizens :

On December 5, 2012 the Virginia Office of the Attorney General is hosting a seminar about Sovereign Citizens for local law enforcement.
The seminar will last 7 hours and will take place at 990 Hilton Heights Road in Charlottesville, Virginia.
According to a press release posted by the DCJS:
The sovereign citizen movement involves individuals and groups who uniformly reject federal and state authority.
Activities by these groups have included redemption schemes, use of fraudulent driver’s licenses and vehicle plates, and use of documents that falsely claim diplomatic and law enforcement privileges.
In recent years, law enforcement personnel in the Commonwealth have experienced a rise in the number of encounters with sovereign citizen.
While the majority of these encounters do not involve violence, the potential for harm to law enforcement exists.”
The press release admits that most Sovereigns are not not violent, but they are seen as a danger because their worldview undermines the authority of law enforcement.

Romney, Business Allies Finish With Strong Argument: Vote With Us, Or You're Fired

Romney, Business Allies Finish With Strong Argument: Vote With Us, Or You're Fired: WASHINGTON -- The Mitt Romney campaign and its business allies are driving home a final message unlike one we've seen in past presidential campaigns: Vote Romney, or you're fired.

The pressure on workers in swing states to toe the GOP line hasn't been restricted to any particular industry. Corporate apparel makers in Ohio, truck stop attendants in Ohio and Virginia, casino employees in Nevada, construction workers in Florida, gift-card purveyors in Colorado and Florida, car-parts makers in Michigan, software technicians in Florida and Colorado, coal miners in Ohio, dock manufacturers in Wisconsin, frozen-food packers in Michigan, resort staff in Florida, Virginia and Nevada, and people all over the country who work -- or used to work -- for Koch Industries or another Koch-owned company have all been given notice by their boss that an Obama victory could lead to layoffs or otherwise harm the company and its workers.

Even workers who'd already been laid off by the Kochs were mailed letters urging them to vote Republican or else "suffer the consequences" of Obama policies that would harm the company.

The Truth Denied Breaking News - Is the Mandatory Evacuation of New Jersey shore a form of Martial Law?

“We know people are there, we’re keeping an eye on them, and they need to stay on their property. If they come off their property to come off the island, then they don’t get back on. It’ll be a while before anybody gets back on the island until we make it safe,” Toms River Police Chief Mike Mastronardy said.
