Small Arkansas Town Wants To Ban Free Speech And Freedom Of Assembly, No “Group” Will Be Able To Meet Without Cities Permission :
There have been several stories recently about towns and their Big Brother ways. We've had: citing citizens for growing vegetables in their front yard, arresting a woman for speaking at a city council meeting, and demanding that residents and businesses give their keys to the police. They're all bad, and it's not a contest, but I think that last was the worst. Until I found this story on the Intel Hub site (and Fed Jack) of a small town in Arkansas that wants to make it illegal to discuss anything about the city, anywhere, including one's own home: Small Arkansas Town Wants To Ban Free Speech And Freedom Of Assembly, No “Group” Will Be Able To Meet Without Cities Permission. This is obviously illegal and rationality says no way can this get any further. Given the mad mad mad state of the world right now, nothing would surprise me. What astounds me is that presumably sane, "normal" people on these town councils, etc. even think of these things at all, and think about them seriously enough to make them laws.
